About: Max Remy is a small girl with an enormous imagination.
Whilst writing her story about Alex Crane, a spy who must complete her mission in order to save the world, Max stumbles upon an entirely unexpected adventure herself.
With both her parents too busy to look after her during the summer holidays, Max is sent to her aunt and uncle’s farm. She thinks this will be the most boring few weeks ever, so she is surprised when she finds that the farm is actually the base for her relatives’ scientific experiments rather than farming.
Max and her new friend, Linden, test out Uncle Ben’s Matter Transporter, hoping it will be able to move not just objects, but people.
Ending up in London on a search for Ben’s estranged brother, who holds the key to the big family secret that will change the world: the Time and Space Machine.
Can Max and Linden escape the evil Mr Blue, who is out to get the machine for his own evil doings? And, if they can do this, will more spy adventures be in store for them?
Max Remy is the heroine to whom we are introduced in this first instalment of the ten-part series, and this introduction holds the explanations for the next adventures.
Written as a narrative with glimpses into Max’s own story of her super spy creation, Alex Crane, this is a book that has it all: mystery, suspense, travel, friendship, good versus evil, family dramas and humour.
It is a page-turner, with each chapter revealing or unravelling a new part of the mystery. Readers will be eager to come to the end and find out what becomes of the villain and our heroine and hero who must act quickly to avoid, among other things, death by jelly.
An amazing beginning to a popular series that will have children reading all day and night.
