Review: The Very Itchy Bear

The bear first introduced to readers in Bland’s The Very Cranky Bear is back – and this time he’s very itchy!
Bear has become acquainted with Flea, which he’s not terribly happy about. Flea bites him all over – up high, down low, under here and over there.

Bear is forced to jump into the water in an attempt to get rid of Flea, but an unexpected twist might see Bear making a new friend.

Within a day of this story being given to my two-year-old daughter, it was a firm favourite. Already a fan of Bland’s work, in the form of The Wrong Book, she took to this one immediately, enjoying the humour and the simple, fun plot.

In fact, I think we both loved this book before we even opened it. Just that bear’s face on the cover is worth seeing! The illustrations throughout don’t disappoint, showing both Bear and Flea in full action, with such expressive faces and larger-than-life personalities.

It’s love.
