Review: There Was an Old Bloke Who Swallowed a Chook

"There was an old bloke who swallowed a chook. I don't know why he swallowed a chook... by cripes, that's crook!"

This Australian version of the classic "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly" is hilarious.
This strange old guy swallows a chook, a galah, possum, wombat, goanna, camel ("one hump, two humps, and then the whole mammal!"), and then... well, you'll never guess what comes next.

Kids will laugh with delight as the story becomes more and more ridiculous, and the repetition will have them chanting along as you go.

These illustrations are big and bold, fun and giggle-inducing, with witty little details that will have you and your little ones seeing new things each time you read.

Which will be quite often.
