Review: The Firefighters

Today is International Firefighters' Day, and what better way to teach children an appreciation for these amazing people than a picture book?

In The Firefighters, the class and their teacher are pretending to be firefighters - putting on their gear, driving the firetruck, turning on the siren and, of course, putting out the huge fire.

So, when REAL firefighters come to visit them, the kids know exactly what their job is.

This is a cute story of role-playing and imagination, with a special lesson for readers about the very dangerous work firefighters do.

The illustrations are bright and appealing - as are the pictures of those big, red fire trucks!

Fun and important.
