The Ipswich Festival of Children's Literature is about to commence! Running from 3 to 14 September, the this festival aims to increase awareness of the value of the arts in relation to writing and illustration. It hopes to build and maintain increased audiences for children’s literature, as well as inspire young people to buy and read more books. The festival also aims to enthuse teachers and parents about the value of stories, and encourage them to promote literature to young people.
To celebrate, KidsLitFest blogger and author Sheryl Gwyther is running a fabulous competition for Queensland children aged 7 to 12. Kids have a chance to win a batch of wonderful books but hurry - the comp closes 1 September.
