Review: Daddies are for Wild Things

You’ve got to be kidding, me right? Daddies were not made for washing up! (despite what Mum says each and every night). They’re also not made for tying up hair (trust me on that one). Believe it or not, they’re actually not made for changing light bulbs, either.

What they ARE made for is wild things. And what are wild things? Scaring, chasing, hiding, making a mess (just ask Mum), splashing, tickling, swinging, and flying spaceships to Mars.

Of course!

What I love about this book is the cleverness and charm. We all know how wonderful dads can be, but Hoy takes the essence of fatherhood, wraps it up in a kid-sized package, and slams it home with a lovely dose of sentimentality and a whole lot of fun.

Kooky, funny and vibrant illustrations by Mal Webster lollop over the pages and vamp up the humour.

A really cool Dad book for little ones.
