Review: Fab Face Freak-Out / No-Rules Cartooning

Dave Hackett is one of a kind. Not only does he write well and draw well, he also photographs well. Very nice. And it’s so wonderful to see such all-round talent spilling from the pages and into the hands of our young lads (and hopefully, chicks).

I know I used to love cartooning as a child, and Dave’s fabulous activity books are just brimming with such creativity and exuberance. In both Fab Face Freakout and No-Rules Cartooning, kids can learn how to create their own comic masterpieces, and also have a giggle along the way.

Who needs rules? Make up your own! Learn all the trade tricks and cartooning secrets from the master. Hackett’s typical high-spirited and boisterous prose will delight the more literary inclined, and the cartoons and activities, from speech bubbles to silhouette portraits, will entrance the visually-oriented.

Perfect books for school holidays.
