Review: The Iddly Widdly Fiddly Pop-off!

Not since I was a child have I heard the term 'pop-off' - and can I just say, I love it! Much less crass than that 'other word' - and funny, to boot (yes, I am childlike in my affection for toilet humour).

We first reviewed author/illustrator Daniel Corcoran The Iddly Widdly Fiddly Poo on KBR over a year ago, and loved it. Corcoran actually wrote and self-published this first book in support of a family friend, in memory of their baby daughter Elise who tragically died after a forceps delivery. The Elise Sneddon Foundation has raised almost $100,000 for the Melbourne Royal Children's Hospital in the past six years.
Even funnier than the first book, in The Iddly Widdly Fiddly Pop-off!, Daniel has penned a delicious tale for littlies about a barnyard of animals who suffer the old Silent and Deadly, just before nodding off to sleep one night. It was no squeaky pop-off, no teeny weeny bum burp, no pathetic little squeal - no no. This is the type that makes beast and bird reel.

So who did it? Was it Mr Woolly? Was it Turkey? Did it bubble from the pig slops or ooze out from the cow plops? Daniel's divinely hysterical rhyming wordage will make both adults and kids laugh out loud as the barnyard stinker is hunted down.

Packed with action, brilliant images and vibrant typography, this is truly a book kids will delight in this lolloping tale and - er - impactful ending. Don't miss this book if you a) want a laugh and b) want a laugh.

You'll love this work from an emerging author/illustrator who is one to watch.
