12 Curly Questions with author Dub Lefler

1. Tell us something hardly anyone knows about you. 
I play slide guitar in a Country Band!

2. What is your nickname? 
Dub

3. What is your greatest fear? 
I don’t really have any great fears these days, when I was little, I used to be afraid of spiders!

4. Describe your writing style in ten words. 
Simple, imaginative and magical as all good tales should be.


5. Tell us five positive words that describe you as a writer. 
Moral, Insightful, Open, Thoughtful and Inclusive.

6. What book character would you be, and why? 
I would be Mowgli from The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling because he lived in the jungle and had all these animal friends!

7. If you could time travel, what year would you go to and why? 
I would go back to see how and why they made the Pyramids.

8. What would your ten-year-old self say to you now? 
I would say “Know what you want and go for it” and I would tell myself to exercise, keep fit and eat healthy food when I become a teenager.

9. Who is your greatest influence? 
I’d have to say Jim Henson, he was such a visual storyteller.

10. What/who made you start writing? 
What made me start writing was ALL the great stories I read as a child, especially the tales from far away, exotic lands

11. What is your favourite word and why? 
Afgooye’ is my favourite word. I met a Cab Driver once,who told me his home-town was a place called “Afgooye’ in Somalia, Africa. Its sounds beautiful when its said aloud.

12. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The Tao Te Ching of Lao Tzu
