Review: My Mum Makes

Mum’s are amazing – the can make and do all sorts of things. Sometimes they help to make yummy snacks, sometimes they play games or bake cakes. Sometimes mum’s are busy with other jobs, sometimes they garden and sometimes they give big warm hugs that help to comfort and reassure.

Perhaps one of the most amazing things that mums can do is to bring a new brother or sister into the family to share the fun.

A fresh perspective on what can be a challenging time for young children, My Mum Makes is a celebration of everything that mothers do, including bringing a new baby into the family.

I love the bright, collage-style illustrations, which are visually appealing for young readers and create a very positive, fun feel to the story. I also like that the new baby isn’t the focus of the story, but is included as another way that the mother shares positive experiences with her little girl.

My Mum Makes
would be a lovely gift for a toddler, particularly a little girl, who is welcoming a new baby into the family.
