Calling all kids!
Have you ever been to a party where everybody there loves stories as much as you do? And all your favourite authors are there, talking about all your favourite characters? And you can dance and sing and pat animals and climb on a fire-truck and even make your very own books to take home? Well here’s your chance – the Children’s Book Festival is back.
On Sunday 24th March your favourite authors and illustrators will be taking over the lawns of the Victorian State Library for a great big book party – it’s open to everyone and it’s absolutely free. Don’t miss special performances from the much loved Jackie French and Justine Clarke to superstar Lynley ‘Hairy Maclary’ Dodd. So grab your mum and dad, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends and make your way to the biggest kids’ book festival in town.
In addition to the Family Day on Sunday, the Festival comprises two days of activities for school groups on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 (see below) and a professional development day for writers on Saturday 23 held in partnership with Writers Victoria.
To book for the Schools Day of the Festival, email education@slv.vic.gov.au or phone 03 8664 7555.
