Join Australian Children's Laureate, storyteller and award-winning author Boori Monty Pryor for an hour of stories, singing and dancing at Woden Library, Canberra, this coming Thursday 11 April, 4 - 5pm.
Boori is a is a multi-talented performer who has worked in numerous industries including film, television, modeling, sport, music and theatre-in-education. He is also known as an articulate public speaker on Aboriginal issues.
He has written several award-winning books and his picture book collaboration with Jan Ormerod, Shake a Leg, won the Prime Minister's Literary Award for Children's Fiction in 2011.
Boori's stories are about finding strength within to deal with the challenges without, and his skill is to create positive visions of the future for both Indigenous and all Australians.
In 2012 and 2013 Boori, along with Alison Lester, was appointed Australia’s first Children’s Laureate, a position they will share for two years. He was also an ambassador for the 2012 National Year of Reading.
