In Memory of Gregory Rogers

We at KBR are deeply saddened by the recent loss of a great Australian children's book author/illustrator - Gregory Rogers. Greg was the very first Australian to receive a Carnegie Medal (Way Home by Libby Hathorn, Knopf, 1994) and his wordless picture book The Boy, the Bear, the Baron and the Bard (Roaring Brook, 2004) was a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year and a New York Times Best Illustrated Book.

In honour of Greg's memory, we will be postponing our traditional Tuesday 12 Curly Questions, and will instead be reviewing two of our favourite books from Greg's impressive list. Look out for them later today.

And stay tuned for early June when we will review one of Greg's last picture books - What's Wrong with the Wobbegong? (Little Hare), written by Phillip Gwynne.

Our deepest condolences to Greg's family and friends. The Australian children's book industry will greatly miss this respected and adored author/illustrator. In honour of Greg's stunning ability to tell pictures through words - we will now let his work do the talking.
