Shout Out: International Dot Day

Peter Reynold's book The Dot is loved around the world. It tells the story of a caring teacher who reaches a reluctant student in a remarkably creative way. The teacher dares the doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to 'make her mark'.

What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing.

Since 2009, The Dot has been the inspiration behind Dot Day, celebrated every year on 15 September. On this day, students and teachers around the world are encouraged to celebrate creativity in the classroom.

Even just a few hours of creativity can help every student to know they have what it takes to make their own mark on the world. So, if you'd like to get involved, visit the International Dot Day website to register your interest and find out what you can do to be a part of this year's Dot Day on 15 September!
