Karl Ammann, a great wildlife photographer. He was my mentor when I was learning to be a wildlife photographer. Richard Attenborough, a pioneer for TV shows about animals. Locally, it was Susanne Gervay who guided me through the maze of publishing.

A mountain gorilla inspired me to start writing. When I realised there were only 600 mountain gorillas left in the world, I felt so sad, so I wrote about the animals so children could understand and help save them.
