October School Holidays at The Children's Bookshop




Another sensational round of bookish school holiday happenings this October at The Children's Bookshop!

Let's Write! with Deborah Abela

Due to Popular Demand, Deborah Abela is back! with Making Trouble – A Writer’s Main Job.

Calling all future writers! We are very excited to announce that author Deborah Abela will be leading a writing workshop in July for students in Years 3 - 6 at The Children’s Bookshop as our Writer in Residence.

Participants in this workshop will be exploring the writing process, focusing on creating charismatic characters and sensational settings! Activities will be hands-on and fun! 

When? Thursday September 26th , 9 - 12:30pm, for students in years 3 - 6
Cost? $50 per student. All materials are provided. Book early!

Drawing Monsters and Creatures of the Imagination

In this hands-on workshop, students will be working with illustrator Tony Flowers drawing monsters and creatures, dinosaurs and mermaids - unleashing their creativity to create creatures of the imagination.

When? Wednesday September 25th, 9 - 12:30pm for grades 3 - 6
Cost? $50 per student. All materials provided. Book early!

Hairy Maclary, Sizzles and Friends!

Children in this workshop will share the stories and adventures of our canine friends such as Hairy Maclary, Sizzles and more canine creatures. Students will enjoy creating art and craft based around our dog friends in best loved children’s books.

Workshop Leader: Jocelyn Shute is a talented infants' teacher and a great friend of The Children’s Bookshop.

When? Tuesday, September 24th, 9 - 11am for children aged 5 - 7
