Review: What's Dad Doing?

Pat the ringtail possum and Wesley Wombat are looking for Pat’s dad so they can play together.

By lifting the flap on each page, children can see that there are lots of things to be done before dad can play. He has to make Pat’s lunch, feed the baby, serve tea to grandma, hang up the wash, cook dinner and sweep the floor.

He is a ringtail possum, and they are the only possums that employ shared parenting methods.

This book also carries a strong message to children that frequently dads can and do help around the house, and then there is play.

Delightful and entertaining, educational and informative, the NLA’s books are always a treat for parents and children. This book is carefully and conscientiously considered, and designed with education and enjoyment in mind. With lively, full-colour illustrations, it exhibits Australian animals and their habits in happy environments.

The end of the book has an outlay where the reader can learn about the habits of the main animal characters: how and where they live, what they eat, and how they use their bodies.

Highly recommended, NLA publications are always value for money and produced using high quality paper to survive frequent handling.
