Review: Mine!

Fox is bored. Oh so bored. Absolutely nothing is happening. Horse is bored too. Oh sooooo bored. Nothing happening in his world either. So the two friends just lie around doing nothing.

Then something happens.

A round object arrives. Fox notices. Horse notices. But neither of them wants the other to notice they've noticed. They sidle closer to the object and then both suddenly pounce on it, yelling, 'MINE!'

And yes, that typical argument heard in playgrounds and toy rooms around the world ensues. 'It's mine!' 'No, it's mine!' 'I saw it first!' 'No you didn't. I did!'

But while Fox and Horse are all wrapped up in refusing to share, there's somebody else about who wants that object too ...

I laughed from start to finish with this book. The bold, bright, brilliant illustrations are the perfect vehicle for this valuable life lesson told so simply yet so well. Kids will love it. Adults won't mind it either!
