Review: This Girl That Girl

Oh this book is fun! This girl is kinda neat and tidy. She likes things to be organised. Right next door lives that girl. She's not so tidy. She's more of a free spirit, who likes things to be a little unexpected.

Of course, with perfect irony, this girl's dad is just like that girl. And that girl's dad is just like this girl!

So while this girl is busy vacuuming up the untidy leaves on the lawn, her dad is running around dressed like a pirate. And while that girl is pegging bits and pieces on her mother's clothes, her dad is making sure his socks are exactly the same height on each leg.

What on earth is going to happen when both this girl's dad and that girl's dad decide to build a treehouse? Is it possible that they might finally have something in common?

This book is wonderful to read aloud. What with this girl doing that and that girl's dad doing this, it's hard to keep it all straight at times! Charlotte Lance's illustrations perfectly capture the various personalities too. It just goes to show that sometimes all you need is a bit of this and a bit of that to make everything just right!
