Can you spot the troop of characters chasing him through the city?
There’s a Moose on the Loose is a fun and interactive picture book written by Lucy Feather and illustrated by Stephan Lomp.
Presented in a similar Find It style to Feather and Lomp’s Follow That Car, this is an engaging book that will get the kids involved in the reading experience.
The story follows Moose as he races across the pages in a super big hurry. He’s going so fast, he doesn’t even realise things keep getting caught on his antlers (a bucket, a crown, a book). As he runs through the city, he quickly gathers a following of cranky characters as more and more animals join the chase to try to get their stuff back.
Kids will have so much fun with this book. On each double-page spread there is a detailed scene (fire station, department store, swimming pool), and the kids get to spot Moose and the animals chasing him. Helpful arrows twist and turn across the pages, and the wonderfully detailed illustrations provide a visual feast of busy characters.
Because the story is simple and the illustrations do so much work, this is a book kids can explore on their own, even if they can’t read the story. It would make a great book to pack in the car for travelling or to bring to the local café to keep the kids entertained before the food arrives.
Recommended for kids aged three to six, There’s a Moose on the Loose is a highly appealing, fun and funky book. And don’t forget to check out the QR code on the inside cover. Scan it and you can have the story read to you, so you can concentrate on finding that moose on the loose.
