This is an extremely easy-to-follow book, with hundreds of awesomely cute things to draw.
Faces, people, clothing, animals, vehicles, buildings, furniture, food: Nguyen provides simple visual instructions on how to draw them all.
And I loved that the text is limited in this book. Instead of written direction, you get visual step-by-step guidelines, which show you how to draw basic shapes to create a rough outline, erase lines/play with the drawing and then add final details.
In fact, the whole book encourages simplicity. Nguyen urges readers to use any tools they like and find simple canvases like notebooks, sticky notes and even leaves. She promotes exploration and fun and provides simple tips and tricks to help along the way.
Some drawings are more complicated than others, but the book gives budding artists the freedom to flick through the pages and choose the drawings they’d like to try.
And the drawings are so cool and funky. Kids will love learning to create the fun characters and creatures, and the very clever layout means they can open the cover and jump right in.
