Review: Spot the Difference Building Site

A new fun board book from DK for all those digger loving kids out there! This great little book is filled with tools, diggers and trucks, along with some surprise additions to make the kids sit up and pay attention.

There are silly spot the differences, where a hammer head is replaced with a fish and the top of the spanner replaced with a croissant. Another one where a digger gains cute googly eyes and another is suddenly driven by a teddy bear.

My three-year-old loves this book. He engages with each picture as he has to find something different or unusual in each group of tools or materials. He laughed hysterically at a carrot replacing a ladder rung and a cupcake replacing a load of dirt in a bulldozer.

This is a clever little book that will have young children carefully examining pictures, asking questions about tools and machines, and having fun with the activities. It encourages children to problem-solve and think carefully about the images and their contents.

The layout is clear and well balanced, using bright colours and clear representations of building site materials. The board book has a sturdy construction that toddlers can handle themselves with images engaging attention and cleverly engaging children with hidden animals and unexpected appearances. A great board book for toddlers and young children to have fun with.
