Review: If An Armadillo Went to a Restaurant

If an Armadillo Went to a Restaurant is a fun book with a nice balance of education and silliness.

Laura Wood’s beautiful illustrations and colour palette perfectly suit the enjoyable use of words.

The book goes through a series of amusing questions about what some animals would eat if they went out for a meal.

Pleasantly, the animals explored in the book are not your usual cat, dog, or farm animals, so it’s an interesting learning experience finding out what they eat. An armadillo, a rattlesnake and a wallaby are just a few of those featured.

At the back of book there is a menu with lots of children's favourite foods (and mine too!), which can be used as a discussion point about favourite foods and what to pick when going to a restaurant.

There is also a follow up book called If an Elephant went to School, which I look forward to reading one day.
