Star Wars Block words include; heroes, villains, creatures, droids, vehicles, planets, cities and iconic objects. It successfully captures the essence of the Star Wars franchise, giving young children an introduction into the world at an age appropriate level.
Like previous block books, this book has unusual shaped pages that reveal what might be on the next page plus a few fold out flaps.
The illustrations were created by Peskimo, using their stylised die-cut shapes set onto detailed Star War scenery.
The characters in Star Wars Block include the young Anakin Skywalker to the newest generation of characters of Kylo Ren, Fin and Rey.
The movies represented in this book are not all given the same length of depiction, some movies like Star Wars: A New Hope is depicted for around one quarter of the book. I imagine that it must have been difficult for the creators to select which story lines to highlight and hence the dark or adult themed ones like Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader have been omitted.
Please note that the words in Star Wars Block are drawn from the eight Star Wars movies released up to and including Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The 2017 Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the 2018 Solo: A Star Wars Story are not included in this book nor are the animated series.
Fans of Star Wars will enjoy sharing the Star Wars Block with their children.
