Review: Where Does a Giraffe Go to Bed?

Aww. This is a lovely gentle bedtime story to add to your toddlers collection.

Have you ever thought about the question, Where Does a Giraffe Go to Bed? well, author and illustrator, Craig MacLean has the most gorgeous answer to this very question.

We know that a rabbit sleeps in a hutch and a koala in a tree.  'But where does a giraffe go to bed?'

Where could it be? A den, a hive, a nest, a cave or a kennel, or even in a wombat's burrow?

The rhythm and lilting rhyme of the story will lull your littlies to sleep, as each double page spread asks the question 'But where does a giraffe go to bed?'

McLean's illustrations show the light of dusk as all the animals are sleep in their bed. He uses a delightful collection of words for sleep and rest; nap, nods off, retires, curls up, snoozes and snores. McLean's pictures show little pops of humour in them, like the giraffe eating a carrot on the rabbit page.

MacLean like to tell stories, including reading at bedtime to his daughters and now he has created a second picture book, Where Does a Giraffe Go to Bed? for you to share with yours toddlers before they settle down for the night.
