Review: Where's Wally Games on the Go

Who doesn’t long for a travel activity book when going on long trips with children? Where’s Wally fans will love this compact compendium full of puzzles, searches, activities, codes to crack.

It has an added fold-out board game neatly packed into the back cover complete with Wally cards and press-out characters.

There are lots of clues to unscramble, word searches, enigmas to solve, strings to follow, as Wally and his friends throw challenges and conundrums at readers during their adventures within the pages.

Be prepared for two journeys; one with a travel destination, the other through the unexpected and thrilling games that will keep children occupied for hours.

The many mind-testing games are not the only clever things in this book. Martin Handford is an intelligent and refined wordsmith that keeps the tongue twisting, the mouth smiling and the brain working with his powerful language skills, repetitious sounds of assonance and alliteration that are so masterful, you can’t help but marvel at his ability to sustain the excellence of language throughout the book.

I recommend this publication to anyone that wants to keep their children away from electronic equipment for a few hours. It doesn’t have to be for travel alone. It can be a surprising and stimulating break from the square eyes and down-bent heads that we are used to seeing. Beware! Laughter will be heard. Children will actually talk to each other while they share the contents of this highly entertaining book.
