Review: Vivienne Westwood (Little People, Big Dreams)

Vivienne Westwood always had big dreams.

She studied fashion and jewellery design and opened a shop in London that brought daring and creative designs to the world.

She rocked boats and pushed boundaries and she never let anyone tell her she had to do things a certain way. She didn’t follow rules, and she let her strong beliefs guide her path to the top.

Vivienne Westwood is another fabulous non-fiction picture book in the Little People, Big Dreams series. I adore these books. They are short, easy to read and filled with colourful and engaging illustrations.

Providing kids with a fantastic look at some of the world’s most famous and influential people, each one celebrates achievement and encourages kids to reach for the stars.

This story tells the tale of a determined and courageous woman who forged her own path to become one of the most outspoken and well-known fashion designers in the world.

The snippets of her life highlighted in the book are relatable and engaging for kids. And if the kids are eager for even more, there is a timeline, photographs and more detailed information at the back of the book.

Engaging and super interesting, this is exactly what non-fiction should be, especially for young kids.

And when you’ve devoured Vivienne, make sure you check out Maria Montessori, Stephen Hawking, Jane Austen, LM Montgomery and so many more!
