Review: Bunnies on the Bus

Bunnies on the bus! Bunnies on the bus! No wonder there’s a fuss about the bunnies on the bus!

A laugh-out-loud race through town, Bunnies on the Bus is a fabulous rhyming picture book about a bus full of bouncing bunnies.

The speeding, swerving, bus stop ignoring bus creates havoc across town. Baby bunnies wail, bunnies scamper down the bus aisle, a bunny climbs on the roof! And I love it all!

This is a fun and silly story that’s sure to engage the kids and have them laughing. With lots of repeatable text, it’s a book that pulls kids into the storytelling and gets them involved.

Bright and detailed illustrations add to the fun, and I love the secret visual storyline that’s threaded through the story. Page one reveals two sneaky racoons are on the loose and the police are tracking them down. Every page continues this visual story, and it joins up with the bunnies’ story at the end.

It’s so much fun to follow the illustrations as you turn the page and read about the bunnies. And there are other Easter eggs to find, too. The illustrations are packed with so much, this is definitely a picture book to read slowly, reading the text and then exploring the pictures in detail. So much fun!

If you’re looking for a fun and entertaining picture book that gets kids involved in the storytelling, check out Bunnies on the Bus.
