Review: Macca and AI, Super Pals

This is the latest instalment in the Macca the Alpaca series where best friends Macca and Al decide to dress up as superheroes.

Who doesn’t love a superhero and Macca and Al are no different. They love all things to do with superheroes – so much so they decide to become real heroes. Complete with masks, capes and underwear – Mighty Mac and Sensational Al are created.

You can only shake your head in laughter as Macca and Al try to discover what their super powers might be; needless to say, none of that goes to plan.

Mighty Mac and Sensational Al decide it is more important that they are ready to save the day – one way or another.

Author Matt Cosgrove will have you laughing out loud throughout this story. The illustrations are colourful, bright, comical and showcase the humour embedded in the story. The image of our superhero Alpacas in classic superhero pose in their underwear alone will make children (and adults) laugh.

All laughs aside, Matt Cosgrove demonstrates that working as a team and supporting your friends is sometimes more important than being the best at something and teaches us the true value of friendship.

With the simple, playful rhyming text and hilarious antics of our two favourite alpacas, children will fall in love with these characters, if they haven’t already discovered them.
