Review: Walking Your Human

Can you guess what your dog is thinking?

If you're a dog owner or simply a dog lover, you will love this book and recognise the situations shared.

Walking Your Human is a dog's eye view of the relationship between dogs and their owners.

If read alone, without seeing the pictures, the text by Liz Ledden is a collection of rather innocent observations.

Dogs love walking, so their humans must love walking, too.

It's important to drink, so why wouldn't you want to stop for some water?

And if there's a chance of a free snack, you'd best grab it quickly.

Add illustrations by Gabriella Petruso and the story takes on a whole new meaning.

The dogs in Walking Your Human disturb their owners when they are relaxing, and drag them all over the place, including after small, wild creatures, and into the middle of a pond.

It's the expressions on the faces of the humans, and the seemingly innocent, joyful attitude of the dogs, that makes this so fun.

Some of the owners are content walking with their dogs. However, the dogs have some interesting thoughts on their clothing, and the need for protecting owners from birds and romantic liaisons.

Dogs of many kinds, big and small, are featured (see if you can spot the Jack Russell, Daschund, Spaniel, Greyhound and others).

Settle down and enjoy this entertaining and uplifting story with the human and dog members of your family. Reading Walking Your Human is sure to make you laugh, and re-think your experience of canines.
