Review: Time to Rest

Time To Rest is a gorgeous and heartfelt Australian lullaby.

‘The sun is sinking low, my darling,
The birds are in their nests.
And you have spent the day exploring
So now it’s time to rest.’

Time To Rest shows our favourite Australian animals being tucked into beds outside, birds being tucked into their nests and marine creatures being tucked into beds under the sea.

So of course, there is no choice but to sleep!

The beautiful illustrations in this story are friendly and warm – perfect for bedtime. With a gentle narrative that is also available to listen to as a song, the lyrics are delightfully dream-like and sleep inducing.

It’s very much worth taking the time to scan the provided QR code and listen to the music as you read through the book, especially if you’re snuggling with a small person.

Rhyme, repetition and a lilting melody that is very easy on the ear, all combine to create a bedtime lullaby that will both delight young readers and encourage them to sleep.

Cuddle up and sleep tight!
