Review: Numbskull and Nincompoop: Science Fair Shenanigans

Monty and Mandy are the very best of friends. They have such a great time together, they sometimes don’t even realise what’s happening around them!

Actually, they often don’t realise what’s happening around them, and it has landed them the nicknames Numbskull and Nincompoop!

Drawing chalk on the airport runway and burning down the neighbour’s house accidently on purpose are everyday shenanigans in their world.

So you probably won’t be surprised to discover that when Monty and Mandy hear their teacher talking about the science fair, they think it’s all about being fair and writing signs.

After they sort out that mix up, they get to work making something really cool for the fair … in between distractions and more shenanigans. Can Monty and Mandy get their act together for the the big event? No one else thinks they can.

Numbskull and Nincompoop: Science Fair Shenanigans
is book one in a brilliant new junior fiction series written by Adam Wallace and illustrated by Dave Atze. This is a super fun book that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s got those awesome wacky, silly vibes that draw kids in — particularly reluctant readers.

With limited text and lots of white space, it’s an easy book to navigate and inviting from the first page. Big black and white illustrations smother the pages, making it very visual. It’s perfect junior fiction for kids who love more pics and less words. And EVERY kid is going to love the entertainment crammed between he covers.
