Review: Imagine a Time

This exquisitely illustrated picture book is a sheer delight from cover to cover.

It address our current hurry-scurry life and its force that makes us want to be there, when we are here, and reflects on the benefit and importance of slowing down and enjoying each moment.

A divine picture book with lively illustrations, its valuable messages and themes, remind us how to be aware of our surroundings; to be like children who observe nature with interest and question;

that hear sounds that aren’t voices talking, phones ringing, or cars moving.

Imagine a Time encourages us to notice all things beyond the hustle and bustle, to appreciate the crash or slow lap of the sea, experience awe at a flock of birds in flight, the movement of butterfly wings, and bees buzzing.

To listen to birds chirping or chattering, the sound of the wind, or movement of leaves on branches of trees.

All that delivers inner peace and silence.

A fulfilling  sense of calm emanates from each page with images of slow activity which tell their own story.

Eye-catching soft pastel shades and delicate lines used by Jennifer Goldsmith, complement and praise Penny Harrison’s insightful rhyming words and concepts.

I loved this book and its unlimited suggestions of ways to enjoy slow. Its messages are also gifted to older readers through images of the innocence in children, and their ability to appreciate nature, and live in the moment without consciously thinking about it.
