Review: L.O.L. G.O.A.T Laughs Out Loud

Get ready for an adventure filled with laughter! L.O.L G.O.A.T. Laughs Out Loud is the sequel to G.O.A.T. by the award winning authors, Kate and Jol Temple, creators of Bin Chicken and Bush Turkey.

The book tells the story of Goat who likes to LOL and Duck who tries to get Goat to laugh out loud by making LOLs. Duck tries ‘Lizards On Logs’ and ‘Lobsters Overheating Lasagnas’ but Goat is not impressed.

This giggle-filled story, introduces children to play on words and acronyms. I’m sure it will inspire readers to make their own L.O.L creations.

Illustrator Rebel Challenger uses bold, popping colours to elevate the humorous story. The illustrations are quirky and funny and there is a great energy to each spread. Challenger has incorporated her passion for animals into her art. The character of Duck is inspired by Challenger’s own duck called Mark.

I can’t wait to use this book in my classroom. My Year 2/3 class loves reader’s theatre and I think L.O.L G.O.A.T. Laughs Out Loud would be great fun to perform. Put that down to my L.O.L or Love of Learning. I better go try it out now.
