As the world seems to grow more confining and life more confounding, we here at KBR take a moment to ponder, as always, the pure simplicity of childhood. It's wonderment, its curiosity. Its magic. Despite all the madness, it is hard to imagine a world without these precious notions.
And so, this year's Team's Christmas Question was simply:
If
you could ask Santa for one thing and one thing only for Christmas, what would
it be?
Grab a fruit mince pie or two or three, sit back and enjoy our team's responses.
From all of us to all of you who have read, shared and enjoyed our reviews and features throughout 2024, a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
May your New Year be filled with light and joy and a magic that sustains and endures forevermore.

Although a year’s supply of white Christmas is tempting, I would say ‘a forest dusted in snow over a glass igloo where I can see the stars’.

My bucket list would give Santa a conniption, but if he could swing an all-expenses paid week’s visit to his Official Village in Rovaniemi, Finland, inclusive of a reindeer sleigh ride, I’d be a happy little snow bunny. That, or a trip to Antarctica.

Same thing I've asked for, for the past 30 years - new feet please. Human ones, because … (it) would be hilarious if I got dog feet.

It would probably be a holiday. A much needed, week-long holiday to a private island with a big beach and good food.

I would like a magic squirty bottle (like you can use for indoor plants) that makes people smile. I reckon that would be ace.
Sarah Steed Senior Librarian, regular reviewer
I’d like a big, happy family Christmas celebration where all the guests are family past and present, including relatives I never met.
Shaye Wardrop Senior Editor, regular reviewer, author
I would ask Santa for more hours in a day! 24 is not enough.
Elle Freestone Junior Reviewer
I would ask Santa for a new summer wardrobe ha-ha.

If I could ask Santa for one thing this Christmas it would be, to rehome all my beautiful books, that they may be loved and enjoyed by others as I have loved and enjoyed them.
Nia Shetty Junior Reviewer, author, poet
I would ask Santa for less homework. The pile is getting too high! If Santa is feeling generous, how about a homework-eating elf on standby? I’ll maybe name him Eraser!

I wish that people became more like dogs - always happy enjoying every minute, loyal, in the moment, funny, silly and fundamentally innocent.
